Finally after all this time the granny squares blanket is finally finished. Well I’m a bit late with this post, the blanket was listed here on Sunday.  It’s lovely even though I say so myself. It measures around 40 x 68 inches with a nice plain black border. It’s just right for snuggling under and watching TV. The photos don’t really show it at it’s best but the light’s been so poor recently I can’t get a decent photo. I hope that it sells and goes to a good home. That’s not all I’ve been doing, I will be back tomorrow with my new creature.

More progress on the Granny squares blanket. Last night I made a start on finishing the blanket.  I finally decided on sewing the squares together. It also gave my hands a much needed rest from the crochet hook. Sewing is gentler on my poor fingers and wrists.  I like the look of it so far, a good old fashioned blanket in lots  of different colours. I think when it’s finished I might list it on Folksy. I’m not sure what sort of price though.  I shall wait and see what the end product looks like.

Just a quick update on my blankie project. I’ve decided to edge my squares in black, I hope I’ve made the right choice. The black brings out the other colours, well I think it does.

I have around half the squares I need so far. I might change my mind though and alter the finished size. Not sure what to do with it when it’s finished.

It could go in the shop although it might not sell with it being summer, then again it would make a nice picnic rug!

The blanket squares are coming along nicely. I have quite a few already and even though I say so myself the colours look nice together.

So far the squares have seven rounds, then I think edged with a contrast then sewn or crocheted together.

A good old fashioned granny blanket. Now all I have to do is choose a colour for edging!
