Yesterday Joss and myself celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it’s that long since we got married. Our wedding was in a tiny country church on a beautiful sunny day. We were married by a lovely lady called Mrs Jesse Dove. We didn’t go out to celebrate our anniversary we just a one of our usual days but it was special, just being together.

Yesterday we went to an exhibition of Images of 18th century Doncaster at Cusworth Hall. Very interesting it was too, on show were some very well preserved drawings of how the town used to be all those years ago. They were placed along side of what is on the site now. I think I learnt more about Doncaster yesterday that I have in my lifetime of living here. I noted the names of some of the artisits or who had lent the art work to the museum. I intend to try and find out more about them.
While we were there we looked around the hall, it was given a grant a few years back and has since had restoration work done and very much improved displays. Before it was a dreary dusty old place. The lakes have all been dredged and spruced up. It’s always been a nice place to visit but much better now. When we were kids many summers days were spent up there in the grounds and trying to peep through the windows of the big house.

It wasn’t open then and stories were always told of hauntings and ghosts. The apples in the orchards were always nice and tasty too!
When we came home I had a small heavy parcel waiting for me to open. Inside was this lovely lot of beads and a funky brooch. It was my parcel from my swap partner on Folksy. Thank you Jayne, I love them all and spent all afternoon inspecting and fondling them. The brooch is now firmly pinned on my jacket. Thanks again Jayne and thanks to Laura for doing all the organising work.

I haven’t had anything to blog about this past week. I’ve been feeling a bit blurgh, not much interest in anything, can’t be bothered you know the kind of feeling. I’m not sure why, just hope it doesn’t last for too long.

I’ve managed to get a few things made, I did the finishing off this weekend, but even then I had to force myself to do it. I’ve been very undecided about what to make for the shop, sales have been slow but then I suppose that’s the way things are with the economy as it is. I must get around to more promotion though.
Anyway the photo shows my finished goods, the strawberry cakes and phone case are in the shop now. The crochet bowl is just something I fancied making and the embroidery doodle piece just had to be done. It was stuck in my head for ages and just had to come out onto the fabric.
Next time I hope to report back with something more interesting to read.
